Cancellation Policy
Subscriptions are not currently being accepted. The following policy will apply when subscription sales open.
When cancellation takes effect
You may cancel renewal at any time, including after a renewal, without a cancellation fee. Cancellation prevents future renewal. Access normally continues through the already-paid period. This ordinary rule does not postpone a statutory cancellation, termination or refund right. When such a right takes effect immediately, access may end at that time.
How to cancel
Email support@observabledata.com with enough information to identify the subscription, such as the product name and account or purchase email. You may also use the cancellation method presented with your order or any method permitted by applicable law. We do not require a telephone call or a particular account control as the only way to exercise a statutory cancellation right. Cancellation is not conditional on staff approving a discretionary refund. A self-service billing portal is not currently available.
British Columbia consumer subscription renewals
Where British Columbia's subscription-contract rules apply, a renewal term of 60 days or less may be cancelled before or after renewal without charge or penalty. That renewal rule alone does not require an unused-period refund; other refund rights remain available. For a renewal term of more than 60 days, you may cancel before or after renewal. Before renewal there is no charge or penalty. After renewal the legally required unused-period refund applies. We will give notice between 30 and 60 days before renewal, identifying the renewal date, cancellation rights, how to cancel and that renewal will occur if you do not respond, using a method that enables us to prove receipt.
Required refunds and deadlines
Following cancellation after a covered renewal of more than 60 days, the required refund is due within 15 days after cancellation notice is given. For time-based Services, the calculation is the remaining days divided by the full term in days, applied to money paid under the renewed contract. Legally prescribed unused-unit calculations apply where the contract is clearly based on other service units. Applicable payment instruments or authorizations will be cancelled or returned within 30 days; that deadline does not permit further prohibited payments.
Other cancellation and refund rights
The Terms of Service, including Sections 2, 4 and 5, preserve additional rights for missing or inconsistent disclosures, failure to provide a contract copy, failure to supply and other statutory grounds. Outside applicable rights under the Terms, law, your order or a payment-provider policy, cancellation does not automatically create a partial-period refund. See the Refund and Dispute Policy for refund review. Stronger applicable merchant-of-record or payment-provider transaction rights remain available.
